ASHA Charter Club Resources

Resources

ASHA Brochures cover the many aspects of the breed and the Association, such as history of the breed, owning a horse, and membership. Clubs may order 100 of each brochure per year and pay only shipping costs. Additional copies may be purchased. Available are: American Saddlebred, Newcomers Guide and Conformation.

Coloring Poster, 18” x 24”, is a fun way for kids to view the versatility of the American Saddlebred breed, and learn more about terminology used in the Saddlebred industry. 100 copies free of charge per year. Extra copies $.25 each.

Little Saddlers are lightweight cutouts of American Saddlebred horses, designed with stars and stripes, to be worn by children while they perform drill team workouts or in parades. . A $150 deposit is required and clubs are responsible for shipping charges.

Max and Maxine are the popular “horse representatives” of the breed. These furry costumes include a full body suit, “hoof” shoes, and a large equine head; they fit the average adult. They are fun for parades and promotional displays, as they always create a lot of interest and are great attention-getters. . A $150 deposit is required and clubs are responsible for shipping charges.

Saddlebred Flag, 5' x 3', in red, white and blue is a great way to attract a crowd to your display or booth. Each Club receives one free of charge. Additional flags may be purchased for $60.

Dates to Remember

Charter Club Renewal
April 30 is the deadline to renew your Charter Club with ASHA. To keep your club active, please submit the following to the ASHA office: renewal form, renewal fee, changes to bylaws, current membership list and membership for officers who are not already active ASHA members.

ASHA Award Nominations
November 30 is the deadline for nominations for ASHA awards, which are presented at the ASHA Annual Meeting. Review the list to see if any of your members should be nominated for an award. The awards include the Breeders Hall of Fame, Breeder of the Year, C. J. Cronan Sportsmanship Award, Lurline Roth Sportsmanship Award, Meritorious Service Award, Lifetime Achievement Award, Gordon Jenkins International Award, Paul and Dorothy Gillenwater Family Award, Frank Ogletree Youth Award and the Wing Commander Medal. 

ASHA Charter Club of the Year nomination form due January 31. 

State Pleasure Horse Awards
Four weeks before the presentation of the awards in your state, club should submit to ASHA to the attention of the Sr. Program Administrator it’s list of winners. The list will be reviewed to ensure all winners are eligible and that plaques are ordered.
